Description: 

The University of British Columbia Division of Plastic Surgery, in conjuction with Stryker Canada, offers a 6 or 12 Craniofacial Fellowship.

 

The fellowship is focused on trauma and post-trauma reconstruction. Significant secondary reconstruction for adult cleft lip, post-traumatic deformities, and jaw surgery is available in this Fellowship. Fellowships are 6 to 12 months in duration and based at the University of British Columbia, although multiple hospitals are utilized for Fellowship training. 

 

The focus of this Fellowship is the treatment of craniofacial trauma and post-traumatic deformities, as well as elective adult craniofacial reconstruction including cleft lip and palate and rhinoplasty. If applicants have specific interest in Head & Neck Reconstruction for congenital deformities access to these activities are potentially available. However, these should be considered supplementary activities, not the focus of the Fellowship.

Requirements:

Generous financial support is available for 6 to 12 months duration.

Successful completion of a Royal College or American Board Certified Plastic Surgery Program or equivalent is required.

Successful completion of the TOEFL exam if language of instruction and practice during medical school and residency was not in English. A passing grade must be obtained prior to submission of the fellowship application.

Applications are now being received for upcoming positions. Please apply ~ 24 months prior to the desired date of training. Applicants are generally accepted 18-24 months prior to the January or July start date.
